While our marketing agency has been female owned and led all along, we are thrilled to announce that now it’s official. treetree was recently certified as a Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC).

Major corporations and government agencies use the WBENC organization as a way to connect with certified women-owned businesses. We’re proud to partner with our clients, including the Columbus Regional Airport Authority, OhioHealth, JP Morgan Chase and Cardinal Health, on their mission to support diverse suppliers,

And we’re excited to uphold the WBENC’s belief that diversity promotes innovation, opens doors and creates partnerships that fuel the economy.

In fact, many studies support the WBENC’s values.

Research has found that firms with more women on their boards “outperform their rivals with a 42% higher return on sales, 66% higher return on invested capital and 53% higher return on equity.” Additional research featured in Harvard Business Review showed that if a group includes more women, its collective intelligence increases.

Plus, a recent study conducted by leadership development firm Zenger Folkman of 51,418 leaders found women are considered more effective than male leaders.

What is a Women’s Business Enterprise?

The WBENC “is the largest certifier of women-owned businesses in the U.S. and a leading advocate for women business owners and entrepreneurs.” Its mission is to fuel economic growth globally by helping develop women-owned business.

To become a WBE, businesses undergo a demanding certification process to ensure the independent business is 51% owned, controlled, operated and managed by a woman or women with industry expertise.

It is beyond humbling not only to join the ranks of other certified women-owned businesses, but also to be able to partner with our clients in such a meaningful way.
